Integrative therapy, usually a medium to long term therapy, merges elements from many different therapies (e.g. psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive and behavioural) so sessions are tailored to the specific individual’s needs and concerns.
It aims to help promote a union between mind and body and can be particularly helpful if you are looking to overcome repetitive patterns that are not working for you anymore. The number of sessions you’ll need depends on your issues and goals and varies on an individual basis. Your therapist will guide and support you to develop greater self-awareness and encourage you to develop more positive ways of thinking and living enabling you to free yourself from self-defeating thoughts and behaviours. It can treat a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety and panic disorders, low self-esteem, body image issues and relationship issues.
